About

Shayla Knight is the founder of Warm Welcome, located in Toronto, Ontario. She is known for her honest, open, and enthusiastic approach to business, and tends to attract like-minded individuals.

Shayla’s passion for property development and design began in her youth. Her parents undertook many residential projects and upgrades over the years, encouraging Shayla to play an active role in the design process, and nurturing her eventual obsession.

Shayla completed an honours BA at Ryerson University in Media Production. During this time she found herself a part-time job at a real-estate office in the heart of Toronto, where she was able to gain a deep understanding of the market while being versed in the architecture of the city. After completing her degree, Shayla briefly moved to her family cottage in Muskoka to work for one of the top real estate teams in the region.

Realizing her passion for interiors lead her to real-estate, Shayla moved back to the city and secured a design internship on a national HGTV television series. She enrolled at Sheridan College and completed the Visual Design Interior Decorating program while working full-time in the industry. After several seasons spent sharpening her technical skills, Shayla shifted into a senior role on international projects and full-scale residential renovations. Soon after, she launched Warm Welcome.

On weekends, Shayla can be found with her husband David, entertaining family and friends in Muskoka. Her secondary passions include personal development, psychology and endlessly fantasying about new business opportunities. She is an ENFP (Myers-Briggs) and will always take you up on a conversation about inspirational figures such as Oprah and Taylor Swift.
